Rock legend Sir Paul McCartney half-time SUPER BOWL performance failed to prevent a dramatic dip in TV viewers who tuned in to watch Sunday's (6/2/05)) sporting event (78000 people in the stadium).
An estimated average of 86.1 million sat down to watch the match on their small screens, down from the 90 million who tuned in for the 2004 game and Janet's controversial half-time duet with Justin Tiimberlake, during which her naked breast was exposed to amuse spectators across the country.

Despite McCartney's triumphant performance - and pre-game entertainment from Black Eyed Peas and Alicia Keys - at the Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, the number of people who watched the American football contest between the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS and PHILADELPHIA EAGLES on TV was lower than seven of the past 10 Super Bowls.
TV network FOX estimated 134 million viewers tuned in to witness at least part of this year's game - down from last year's all-time Super Bowl high of 143.6 million.
Maybe he should have promised a wardrobe malfunction and not rule it out.... At age 63 maybe not the best idea. Paul still entertained with gigantic lights and fireworks 30 awesome minutes, smashing Beatles hit after Beatles hit into the crowd... Watch out for his tourdates and his upcoming Live 8 apperance !
