According to Rose, GNR are also adding a new song on "The Da Vinci Code" movie soundtrack. The film is based on Dan Brown's controversial best-selling novel and is currently in production. This will be the band's first new music since "Oh My God" ("End of Days" Soundtrack). Their controversial "Greatest Hits" album, which was released in 2004, has sold over 2million copies in the US. GNR's original members suit Geffen Records alleging that the CD was released without their consent. Geffen officials countered that they released the album only because Rose delayed "Chinese Democracy", which has been in the works for over 10 years.

Apple Boss Steve Jobs was outraged during his opening speech at the Apple Expo in Paris, when he vowed to push against Record Companies to increase the cost of iTune downloads. "I think they are getting a little greedy", said Jobs, and continues "this can only increase piracy. The opposite from what we are trying to achieve by providing a cost effective way for consumers to hear their favorite tunes". Industry analyst Philip Leigh (U.S. market research firm Inside Digital Media), said record companies are getting smarter over their loss of control as online customers cherry-pick favorite hits. "A full CD might have only three or four popular songs," Leigh said. "Now that the consumer's able to buy each song individually, they don't have to buy the whole CD, and the labels are concerned that this will result in lower revenues." Although Apples iTunes contract is up for renewal, as long as Apple controls the market for music players and paid-for downloads, it is going to be very difficult for labels to avoid dealing with Steve Jobs and his 99 Cent philosophy.

Kiss fans said to have had it with Hall of Fame officials after realizing that Kiss is yet again not part of the finalists for this year's Rock & Roll
Hall of Fame inductions, "We're sending in our forces." warned fans known as the KISS Army who tired of the lack of respect given to the '70s icon. "KISS has been America's number one gold-record-award-winning group of all
time," says rally chairman Paul Carpenter. "Look at their impact on the music
industry! Artists from Lenny Kravitz to Garth Brooks have said on record that
KISS were the most influential musicians in their lives. The fact that year
after year the Hall has failed to place KISS on its list of finalists is not
just an oversight but a disgrace." According to rally co-chair Joe Apple, KISS fans from all around the world
are already making plans to converge on the Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland
on August 4, 2006 to tell the Hall and the world that KISS deserves a place
of honor among the legends of rock & roll. "The KISS Army formed as a
grassroots movement by a teenager in Indiana 30 years ago," says
Apple. "We're going to mobilize the generations of KISS fans who have
enlisted over the years to make this an event the entertainment world will
never forget."
