Now this was Goo(d)! This is what I am talking about. Give me some vintage Goo outdoors and set the stage on fire. The 3 piece hit the stage at the Santa Barbara Bowl, CA shortly after 9 pm, following an energetic and well received performance by support band Lifehouse. Lead singer John Rzeznik was charmed by several ladies in the front row; enough to amuse himself and forget the lyrics to "Sympathy". The crowd loved this natural side of the allusive Goo
and cheered in support. I appreciated the newly revised setlist, after fans had a chance to vote for their favorite songs on the official GGD website. My personal highlights were "Name", "Black
Ballon", "Broadway" and the Tom Petty Cover of "American Girl", which the Goos did great justice to. "Become" was the low of the evening. The song lacked energy
and pitch. In between songs, John says something like "I have a mouth like a shovel. Everytime I open it, I dig a hole". Um ... I always like watching Robby play bass. He is enteraining, looks like he really enjoys what he is doing and adds exciting movement to the show.
But why am I telling you what I think, listen for yourself ...
